The kitchen provides all food and catering services available through Arahina. This includes the daily feeding of residential staff and catering for onsite functions. Weekly duties include food orders. Monthly duties include menu preparation, budgets, planning and reports. The Team Leader reports to the Operations Manager.
The kitchen ensures Arahina operates to support ministry and functions hosted at Arahina. Ministry includes training, education and ministry support services. Functions include weddings, conferences, weekend retreats, meeting room hire and dinners.
The Team Leader is expected to both lead the work and do the work. Leadership includes staff supervision, planning, organising, staffing and controlling. Actual work includes food preparation, serving and cleanup. Skills required include the ability to work to a deadline, budget, menu preparation, negotiation and manage complaints.
